
MDA said the baby was born healthy at home, turning what began as an emergency into a brief moment of relief for the family.
A Magen David Adom team delivered a baby at a home in Tel Aviv on Thursday morning, then rushed the newborn and his parents to a nearby shelter minutes later after Red Alert sirens sounded across central Israel, according to MDA.
The emergency service said the call first came into its 101 dispatch center after the mother went into labor at home.
An EMT at the dispatch center, Aharon Cohen, directed the baby’s father by phone until a Mobile Intensive Care Unit arrived, MDA said. The responding team, led by paramedic Dr. Gal Rosen and joined by EMTs Vladislav Priadko and Yuval Peleg, completed the delivery on site.

Rosen said he ran with the minutes-old baby in his arms while wearing protective gear in order to reach safety. He said he tried throughout the incident to preserve as much of the parents’ first moments with their son as possible, including allowing them to hold the baby, cut the umbilical cord, and begin bonding with him.
Family shared first moments together under Iranian missile fire
The paramedic said that once the group reached shelter safely, he immediately returned the baby to his father.
“This is not a simple reality, but within all of this, there are also moments of light,” Rosen said.
“Seeing a half-hour-old baby in a public shelter, surrounded by a family full of blessings and joy, is something you don’t forget.”
The baby’s parents, identified by MDA as Violet and Nikola, said the experience was far from simple but ended safely thanks to the medical team’s quick response.
“The team functioned amazingly, calmed us, and treated us in the best possible way. This isn’t the ideal experience, but we’re happy everything ended safely, and we’re grateful to the team who helped us so much,” the parents shared.
